Separation between Church and School
Ok, this is a subject that I am actually willing to put a lot of time into reading about. The separation of church and School's. Unless it is a Christian school, then it is dur factor that it is allowed. Anyways, I noticed that when I went into High School when I was public schooled that science teachers and some history teachers where getting into the topic of God and the bible a little to much, and mostly saying it was wrong. This really did make me mad when I heard things that said the bible was wrong. Today, my friend asked me a question when I got home from editing at church. He said "I got a history question that is due tomorrow, can you help me with it." Now, as much as I hate history, I said yes. So, here is the question "If God is all powerfull can he make a rock that he can't pick up?" Well, it took me 2 minutes to digest the fact that a teach had asked this, and another minute to even think of how to respond. I have my response, and will share it later, but what do you guys think of that question? What is your answer? Should that history teacher have asked that question? Is this post starting to sound like Jason's $600,000 post? lol, don't answer that one. Let me know, then I will share what I think.

Ok, smartie, I will take a stab at this question. By definition, God (with a capital letter, please) is greater than anything ever could be or ever will be; otherwise, he would not be God...So, I am thinking he could create a rock he would not lift, but he could not create a rock he could not lift because he is more powerful than anything he creates. I see a slight problem with this answer, however. Maybe someone else has a better answer...
My response would be to ask the teacher to describe in working detail the 4th dimension (time as a physical entity) as it applies to our limited existance. Only then can we begin to have the beginning of the comprehension needed to even contemplate, let alone explain an omnitient God.
We go to school to learn to communicate...despite the fact that teachers spend most of the time telling us to be quiet. However, we do not go to school to learn about God...thank God. Just like any other subject, a teacher is free to interject their thought...learn to think for yourself and not learn becasue it was "said so" by anyone... Including your preacher.
You make a good point Anonymous. The thing to keep in mind is that the law to for separation between Church and school was passed a while back and I just think it is funny how the school seems to have a lot of trouble in doing so.
Ann, That was pretty much my answer to this question as well. This is what I told him "Well, my answer would have to be no, God cant create a rock he cant lift because he can lift anything he wants."
